IF you feel that the United States Government, for quite some time, has been out of control, has soiled Liberty, and has the potential to do worse, then please keep reading.

This is not about health care, guns, bailouts, education, welfare, federal debt, personal privacy, gay marriage, or eminent domain. This is about all of those subjects and more, because it is about how the Constitution is being ignored by the powers of Government to distress Liberty.

Liberty – the freedom to do by yourself what you can – is at risk in ever increasing ways. Republican and Democratic parties of power (our only choices) at different times and in different ways have progressively succeeded in assaulting our Constitution, the last best preservative of Liberty. There are few Articles or Amendments that have not been challenged in the uneven application of law, let alone that the framers hesitated to enumerate our rights for fear they become limiting.

Should We be surprised at our many obstacles, or that so many involve Government?

For instance, there is no Constitutional Amendment barring the Government from assuming massive debts of the private sector and from ruinous public spending and entitlements. This matters, because they have so far obligated every American to $300,000 in debts, bailouts, and entitlements.

There is no Constitutional Amendment preserving the right for free, informed trade that offers opportunity, comfort, and hope. This matters, because the Government already controls access to medications, with life and death consequences, based on their perception of our better interests. Congress now wants Government to determine the full compliment of our medical services, as well as the products We buy and sell in order to ration carbon allowances according to the will of the Governmental thermostat.

There is no Constitutional Amendment preventing warrantless wiretapping of citizens. There is no Constitutional Amendment preventing gerrymandering and incumbency leading to elitist, polarized Representatives. There is no Constitutional Amendment preventing the Executive from receiving $700 billion dollars from Congress without actually following the law about its use, instead using it to buy ownership in banks and car companies, and eventually negotiating as a litigant in bankruptcy court about the re-distribution of that same private property.

These things matter because our Constitution, so ignored, is unable to protect natural Liberty from the reach of our insatiable Government and its agencies.

If one were inclined to observe the options available, when the checks and balances are instead inflicted on the people rather than the government, then We do yet have choices. Therefore, in service to the people of these United States, the pages that will follow these are offered as a review of the situation and remedies available for We the People, as citizens of this great Republic, to restore and preserve that which is naturally ours – our Liberty.

This is a call for application, by the several States and to Congress, for a Constitutional Convention to propose Amendments in accordance with Article V of the Constitution for the United States of America.
